Harper sues the Liberals, perezhilton.com and Other Blogs

Stephen Harper is suing the Liberals over the Cadman scandal, to the tune of $2.5 million, CDN of course.  This entire fiasco is an act of juvenile machismo and only goes to show exactly how ineffective and useless this current government is.  Who’s next? The WordPress blogs? Perez Hilton? The Conservative government needs to be booted and sent to the curb.  If only Stephane Dion could grow a pair of balls, or borrow Michael Ignatieff’s.

Stephen Harper looks Fat in a Kimono

Ok maybe it’s not a kimono. But, the Harper government is trying to help the backlog of immigration applications. How you ask? Simply by having more rejections, silly. A new bill they are trying to cram down our throats will allow the immigration Minister to reject applications already approved by immigration officers and have the final say on the “type” of immigrant that comes in (kind of like a bouncer at a posh night club). By the way, if you have a photo of Harper in a sombrero, please let us know, thanks.

If She Can Drive, Then She Can Ride!!!!

Oops. Brad Wall, premier of Saskatchewan, let it slip that he lets his 14-year old daughter drive. That’s illegal in the prairie province that he tries to run. He has since realized that he is held to “higher” standards. Duh. In recent news, the Wall family also allows their 8 year old son to down a bottle of vodka now and then, as long as it’s mixed with some 100% juice and his Flintstones vitamins.

Question Period is so Useless… but is Baird a bear or a cub?

Today watching Question Period in the House of Commons, it became clear that it really is useless.  When visiting in person, I could hardly hear the various members giving their 2 cents on a wide range of topics.  As a result, I resorted to critiquing fashion and seat placement.  However, watching it on TV and being able to hear it as it happens, I started to wonder other things.  First off, the translators must be the most well versed Canadians when it comes to politics.  I would bet they know more than many of the MPs in Ottawa, many of which don’t show up for Question Period.  The Conservatives in government rarely answer questions.  Their responses are curt and they always spin the end of their question into some sort of astonishment that they would even be asked those questions.  Some examples today are the Chuck Cadman affair and the environment.  Opposition MPs were very critical, suggesting that the new “environmental initiatives” put in place by the government favour Alberta.  What I did learn was that the government is ONE BILLION DOLLARS OVER BUDGET in Afghanistan.  They certainly don’t go over budget on health care or child care.   The NDP whines a lot, and the government does make a point in saying they could never do anything because they would never get elected.  John Baird however, is the worst.  He fails to answer questions and makes grunty faces at the end of every sentence.  I was pondering two things: what does the big, flamboyant ring on his right hand signify and does he consider himself a bear or a cub?

Iggy could have been ours!!!!!!!!!!

Watching and blogging about the recent American Republican and Democratic primaries has made me realize that if the same process of leader selection was done in Canada, the political landscape would be quite different.  Stephane Dion would have never been the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada.  This has nothing to do with either his inability to do the job or his Quebec heritage.  It has to do with likability and popularity, plain and simple.  When he was selected, no one, except for those avidly active in politics, knew who he was.  Michael Ignatieff, on the other hand, was wildly popular, well known and respected.  Although as Canadians we often look down on American politics, this is certainly a superior situation where leaders are selected democratically and not by a small group of people that certainly don’t represent the average citizen.  Iggy could have been ours!!!!!!!!!!!!

John Baird is very Beary

Canadian Minister of the Environment, John Baird, thinks that a recent green bill proposed is the end all and be all of environmental sustainability. The undying leftys in parliament, known as the NDP, have tabled a motion to take down the government because it isn’t setting the environment as a priority. Of course, Stephane Dion and the Liberal Party don’t want an election because of their lack of charismatic leadership. However, Stephen Harper has maintained that John Baird will continue to escort the First Lady, Laureen Harper, to all public function. Harper isn’t acting like the usual right wing insecure jealous husband because Baird is a big, lovable Bear.

Clinton doesn’t wear briefs in Canada

According to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Hillary Clinton’s campaign did not brief the PMO on any aspect of her stance on NAFTA. NAFTA-gate has hurt Barack Obama’s chances of winning the White House. Allegations of double-talking and political posturing have plagued Obama ever since, probably aiding in his loss of both Texas and Ohio primaries. I think Clinton and Obama should come on up to Canada in their briefs and go for a cold dip in the chilling waters of Lake Superior. Surely that would be warmer their relationship as of late.

Stephen Harper: Families, Workers and Seniors MUST Suffer!

Suffering is the most popular stop on the subway train to heaven.  At least that’s what the Conservative Party of Canada would have you believe.  At a swanky lunchtime talky-poo at the Economic Club of Toronto, Stephen Harper, the Canadian Prime Minister, told listeners that Canadians falling on hard times during the current economic lull shouldn’t count on the government to bail them out.  Critics have been asking for tax relief for families, the working class and seniors.  Surprisingly, the minority Conservative government will have none of such debauchery.  He concluded his speech by saying “Let them eat cake!”

Way Back Playback

Here is the sexy Rona Ambrose speaking in the House of Commons. In the background you can hear Peter MacKay talking about his dog? Does he not have more important things to discuss? Like the environment, poverty, taxes, education and health care? What a dumb ass!

NAFTA rears its ugly head…

NAFTA has become an issue again, as documents given to Canadians are published by the Associated Press. The suggestions have been that Obama’s discussion of renegotiating NAFTA is political hot air and not to be taken seriously. As a result, Hillary Clinton soars in the polls in Ohio, just the day before the major primaries in that state and Texas. Perhaps Obama could gain ground by suggesting a negotiation of the constitution and the refund/exchange policies at Best Buy. Goddamn VCR!

The devil lives one more day…

Hooray! Hooray! The Stephen Harper Conservative government lives one more day as the budget passes in the House of Commons. Most Liberals didn’t show up and we won’t be having an election any time soon. We will also not be having any environmental policies, publicly funded non-Conservative cinema or daycare. Awesome!

Surprise, surprise, Albertans like beef, country music and vote Conservative

Congratulations go out to Eddie Stelmach, who has won the 11th consecutive Progressive Conservative provincial government in the province of Alberta. The latest polls also show that Albertans like to eat their beef, dance in cowboy hats to country music and enjoy a good hate crime now and then!

The Devil Threatens to Sue over Dead Man’s Insurance

It’s not enough that the Cadman’s family has to tolerate the Conservative party basically calling them liars, but now Stephen Harper threatens to sue the Liberal party of Canada and Stephane Dion over remarks on their website. Not only are the conservative being painted as bribers but now they’re also an impediment to free speech, again.

Teen sex and orgies: Banned by Harper

Sneaky budders! In last week’s Conservative government budget, they gently slipped in a condition on using tax credits for movie productions. According to the new rules, a movie’s tax credits can be denied if it is deemed offensive or inappropriate. The major question is to who’s standards. This is a major example of conservative, right wing, censorship. This morning on CBC News Sunday, the comments made by a representative of a Canadian Christian right wing group that thinks they are heading the decision panel for Telefilm Canada sturred up some sheat. And I don’t think this is the last we hear of this issue!

Harper wants to buy YOUR vote; with life insurance

Just to let Stephen Harper know, MY vote IS for sale. For a life insurance policy, as was offered to the late Chuck Cadman, I will vote for any Conservative that runs in my local riding. A man that poses with such a cute kitty cat must be trustworthy… right?

Way Back Playback

harper-clean-air-thumb.jpg
Remember when Harper tried to pass off the Clean Air Act as something useful? He thinks a “thumbs up” can shut us up. Poor Rona Ambrose, the former Environment Minister, just stood there and later took the fall. Since Belinda Stronach left the party, Ambrose is definitely the hottest Conservative in government.
